Magazine features on homes built by David Anstis.
Some of the homes David has built have been published in magazines and in the book A Deeper Shade of Green. Click an article to read it.
Homestyle featured a contemporary eco home in Glen Eden that David built in 2008 on a strict budget. No particle board or carpet was used inside, there is double glazing and a heat pump, and the insulation goes well past the standard. The floors are sustainable New Zealand eucalyptus.
“As a testament to David Anstis’ desire to build “environmentally friendly”, this home certainly ticks all the boxes in terms of being healthy, modern and a piece of eye-candy on the side of the hill.”
A feature on the eco renovation of a 1940s ex-state house in Auckland. Passive solar design, reused bricks, double glazing, solar water heating and rain water tanks took the house from a Homestar rating of two to seven out of ten.
